The “New” Surf Club

The world famous Surf Club located at 9011 Collins Avenue in Surfside is getting restored to its formal glory.

The restoration is going to include the original oceanfront Surf Club in conjunction with two luxury oceanfront condominium towers and a hotel managed by The Four Seasons.

Even though the new buildings will be larger and more eye catching, the architect, Richard Meier is trying to keep the original Surf Club as the focal point of the new development.

The two modern glass condominium towers will include 152 units with almost 50 floor plans ranging from 1,400 square feet to nearly 8,000 square feet.

The third hotel tower will be a managed by The Four Seasons. This building will have 80 units and will offer many amenities including two restaurants, beachfront cabanas, gym and spa.

Four oceanfront pools will be featured, two of which will be exclusive access for residents.  The condo residents will also have access to the gym and spa.

Sound attenuating concrete walls, oversized Chefs kitchens, Up to 20-foot double-height oceanfront living rooms will all be special features included in the condominium buildings.

The historic Miami Beach Surf Club in Surfside was originally built in 1929 and designed by architect Russell Pancoast.  The Surf Club opened on New Years Eve of 1930.

Since then, many famous people have become members including the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Winston Churchill, Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor.

The property is located on the Atlantic Ocean between Bal Harbour and Miami Beach. It has over 965 lineal feet of pristine oceanfront beach.
